All of Puerto Rico's beaches are gorgeous, but the most pristine ones are on the East side of the island. I would highly recommend El Conquistador Resort since they have their own private island Palomino (gorgeous). Also since you'll be in the town of Fajardo you can visit Flamenco beach (2nd top beach in US) in Culebra, Soni beach in Vieques, and Seven Seas in Fajardo. Just to let you know Vieques and Culebra are sister islands on the East side of PR, you will need to take a ferry ($2.50) form Fajardo to get there or buy a plane ticket from San Juan (around $40). This resort is a bit pricey, but there are other options in the area.

Other gorgeous swimmable beaches are: Boqueron in in the town of Cabo Rojo (Southwest), Crash Boat in Aguadilla (Northwest), and Rincon (West). It is a tourist area but not as developed as Fajardo or San Juan.

A good swimmable beach: Ocean Park in Isla Verde (main hotel area), and Condado. This ones are in the main hotel strip. You will be close to other attractions beside the beach.

The rest are good but the ones above are the top ones. Visit gotopuertorico.com and you will find info on beaches and accommodations. Enjoy your trip!

Dont stay at the conqu.... in farajdo because it is expensive .. i stood in isla verde at the Howard Johnson and their prices were good the pool was great the staff were pleasant and the room was beatiful. their is a beach across the street and it is on a strip of stores restaurants and bars , clubs and casinos. the hotel offers free breakfast so that will save you about 40.00 dollars a day. but if u want to see the best beaches you need to go to the island of culebra. the beaches their are priceless. you'll get the greatest tans

NOT in San Juan. The main beach is very average. And it is crowded and built up with somewhat murky looking water. I would stay out of town at the Westin or the El Conquistador. The beaches are unspoiled out there and more natural.

Definitely south west of the Island. Guanica, Boqueron, or even Aguadilla.

That is where I usually go Snorkeling and Scuba diving.
