About and hour to two hours. Don't tug or play with your lip though. If you do then when the numbing goes away you will have some pain from the tugging. Trust me I have had 10 teeth pulled.

Have any other quetions? Email me --- helpfulhints101@yahoo.com

Usually local anesthesia lasts 3 to 5 hours depending on which anesthetic was used. We usually recommend patients wait until all of the “numbing” is gone before eating so they will not chew their cheek or tongue! If you are starving have a milk shake of something soft that you don’t have to chew! Also, a warm compress in that area will increase the blood supply and carry off the anesthetic faster! Good Luck!

Three to 5 hours as this is local anesthesia (novocaine). You must have not been to the dental hygienist for at least 2-3 years. She must numb you out to clean all the accumulated plaqueson the gum line. Without the local anesthesia, you will be in excruciating pain!! Now you can smile!!!!

You have blood in your mouth? Just go back to the dentist and have it checked. The stiffnes might improve but the blod clot will remain and you have to get that cleaned. After 2 hours the numbness should have gone already!?

If you take your fingers and rub the bottom part of your chin (the outside of your mouth) it will wake those nerves up and help you with the numbness. If you have pain ice it and take some Motrin (ibuprofen) Good Luck!

It will last a couple of hours, or even 3 hours to be safe. A good test is to drink water. If it dribbles, then you have to wait a little longer.

It will take a couple of hours. You'll know when it starts cause it will start to feel all tingly and maybe slightly painful. Sort of like when your foot falls asleep and you start getting circulation back into it.
