One of the cats outside had a litter of kittens (2.5 months old now) The kids caught one of the kittens. I kept the kitten separate from my two cats until I gave it a flea bath. I took the towel it way laying on so I could change it, & saw little brown skinny bugs like very very tiny, almost microscopic, crawling on the towel. Also, they are definitely not fleas. It's not my kitten, but I don't want anything to be wrong with it because I have someone who wants to take it. I also don't want to go into my cats vet fund to pay expenses for the kitten. Does anyone know what's wrong? Please help.

Sad to say this but what you saw was the larval stage of the flea it is the stage just before they turn into full fleged adults. To nip the flea infestation in the bud you should treat your house and all the cats with flea products before it gets out of hand. There are some prodoucts that are offerd a the vets that are also available at your local pet stores. Good luck.

Sounds like skin mites, you would have to take the kitten to the vet, you know if you didnt wash it up it could have died eventually. From what you are describing the cat has mites of some kind though and most likely skin. Remember your children removed this cat from the wild, its now your responsibility as tough as it may be. Its one visit to the vet and you give that cat a good home.

Definitely keep it away from your cats, until a vet check-up. As said, if can't afford give to a shelter. Sounds like tape worms to me, very common in cats - they catch by ingesting fleas/larvae and segments pass through the anus- look like small rice pieces, usually whitish brown. Please Spay the cats outside, there may be an organization in your town that will do it free.

i have no idea. but maybe you could at least call your vet an get some expert advice. there is also a site on the Internet in which you can ask questions to a real vet. I'm not sure what its called but I'm sure someone else will know. good luck and i hope the kitten is okay.

It needs to go to a vet so that it will not die from worms, give it to a no-kill shelter if you can't afford to provide it with proper medical care. You should have your adult cat spayed so that it doesnt have more kittens that will need care too.

Probably some type of mites. It needs to see the vet asap. Have your friend take it right away. It will be okay!

If you can't afford to take care of it, take it to an animal shelter where it will get proper treatment and shots before it is placed up for adoption.
