In a matter like this is there any right answer? There (hopefully) are only a few people in the world that can understand how a mind as sick and twisted as that can work. However life is life and should be respected, he does deserve to serve the best course of punishment (and by no means is a life sentence justice enough) available to our courts and not take the easy way out for himself. We all need to remember that everyone has a mother and a father. Unconditional love is just as in-explainable and so his will still care about him somewhere. Why should he be allowed to do more evil to the innocent!? To sum up the sanctity of life should never be forgotten no matter what that life has done, some animals eat their own young and are not deemed evil, while again i must point out I'm not making excuses or trivialising the atrocities carried out by this sick deluded individual, I'm just saying it is not for us to judge if a life is worthy of ending, or we run the risk of becoming as guilty as the evil we seek to end!

because the prison officers weren't there when the two poor girls were murdered. Yes it would be a better world without the likes of that man in it, but it is the job of the officers to not let people die otherwise they are playing God and I personally would not relish that role.

Because they have a 'duty to care' for the prisoners, the same as doctors have to save the lives of people who dont deserve to live.
I prefer the thought of Huntley living in constant terror of getting his head kicked in by other prisoners and being so miserable he wants to die than him getting to take the easy route out...he doesnt deserve to die.

Hard one this, after what he did to Holly and Jessica, he deserves to feel the pain of what he did to those two little girls and their families, you can imagine having to be with some one like him every day and wanting him to suffer, but then, you get the human rights people saying awwwww shame poor man and blah blah, nah, they should keep bringing him back to life to make him suffer, his suffering is minor compared to what he put those to little girls through...... for people like him, death is the easy way out!!!

According to news reports it's because the judge sentencing him, said that for him life should mean life and he should not be given an easy option. He said he should stay behind bars for a very long time. If I had my way I'd let him die, let him test the theory that there is a hell.

That's a good question. Why is suicide against the law? Should we have a right to control our own lives? Is it cruel and unusual punishment to keep someone alive to experience the mental torture that may go along with having murdered someone?

I think by bringing him back to life they never allowed him to take the easy route out.
Prison is a rough place and you are judged on your crimes by other inmates, imagine no where to run, no where to hide these other inmates will make his like hell what bigger torture is there than putting up with this for life

Because prisoners and guards alike hate nonces like Huntley.
If they keep him alive, they can continue to make his life a living hell.
Why do you think he wanted to kill himself anyway?
It's not because of remorse.
It's because he wanted to end the incessant beatings and abuse.
Personally I'd rather he was kept alive and beaten contually for the rest of his natural life.
