LK 21:17 "And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake." No other belief system is more widely known and widely hated as the Christian Faith. Jesus predicted accurately when said those statements.

Hated by the world, yes. But loved by Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This guarantees far more than what the world has to offer. Whom will you choose today, my friend?

I'm really going to rock the boat on this one....

Who follows the teaching of Jesus? Christians

Where are there a lot of Christians? Europe, North America, South America

Who hates the US and many Christians.... Muslim terror/extremists

Maybe it is true....With the current state of events in the world, granted we have not helped things with foreign policy, (but that's another question) perhaps there is some validity to this statement. They certainly don't like us....

I don't want to be interpreted as "using the passage to justify my political standpoint". Perhaps I am way off and wrong, I just wanted to share my thought on the question.

He did say that...but it's not really that impressive a proclamation. ANY new set of ideas or philosiphy is rejected, feared, and even hated initially. One good look at the Equal Rights Movement or the Civil Rights Movement, or even the Reformation should tell you all you need to know about that.

Modern Christianity brings a great deal of scorn down on its own head these days...at least some of it well-deserved thanks to the shennanigans of its many outspoken crusaders.

The problem with stating with what philosphy or religion one aligns is one has already lost. Jesus never once mentioned anything about organized religions and that one is better than the other . He preached to love your neighbors as you would yourself. He was not one to take importance in how high a spire rose to the heavens or how grand the cathedrals and its treasures were. His main message was to love the least of your brothers and sisters because they were and are the church.

Christians follow Jesus? Thats garbage, christians follow Paul who teaches that Jesus died for your sins! Your not hated, just your false claims to commit carnage on those around you. Otherwise, your pretty good folk.

Just because i hate Christianity doesn't mean i hate Christians. I feel sorry for them. I try to help them just as i would anyone else in a cult.

Not universally. Now, if Jesus had said "And ye shall annoy all men for my name's sake," he might have been closer.

That reminds me of what God said in the Bible about your great great grand father Ishmael

Genesis 16:12 "He will be like a wild donkey among men. His hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him. He will live opposite all of his brothers."

You Muslims must be SO PROUD. Looks like his wild donkey trait was passed down from generation to generation

It was Paul that said that. He's the fellow that wrote the New Testament. He should be around today, he'd be another Murdoch.

How true and how evident on this forum.....The haters of God have definitely proved the truthfulness of Scriptures.

Jesus said: " Blessed are you when men shall hate you, ...and shall reproach you, and cast your name out as evil, for the Son of man's sake. Rejoice, and leap for joy!...for GREAT is your reward in heaven!" (Luke 6:22)
