Can buttermilk be frozen?

Did you know that you can make your own buttermilk by just adding vinegar. I learned this from an older friend I have, and it really helped me from throwing out buttermilk that I buy just for buttermilk brownies.

Yes, but if you’re a buttermilk drinker, you’ll be disappointed. It’s really only suitable for cooking and baking after it’s been frozen.

It's like freezing cheese...after you take it out of the freezer you only want to cook with it.

yes, just like milk / yoghurt, I would use it only for cooking after though

u should refrigerate it, but i guess so but it will taste different
