Because you can easily see the faults and obvious falsehood of all

Irreducible complexity is just a feign at intelligence by misinterpreting things like entropy to fit your own purposes.

Pascal never meant for his wager to be used the way it is, read about it on wikipedia. Take the time to read about all of the mathematical and logical errors in his argument, like the fact that it only considers one very narrow view of one possible God.

Another common misconception is that the big bang theory is a theory of creation. It isn't, it is a theory of already existing mass spreading throughout the universe. Theories on how things got to be here in the first place are completely seperate theories.

Consistent misunderstandings on evolution also flourish here. Like the belief that anyone claims we evolved from monkeys, we obviously didn't evolve from monkeys, the only similarity is that we're both primates and evolved from the same ancient primate. Read the modern theory somewhere.

So which one of those crazy misconceptions makes you most annoyed when portrayed as truth?

You can call me stupid and a jackass all you want, I really really really don't care. Plus I'm going to put it up for vote so if enough people agree with you you might get 10 points for it too. Unless I see an answer I really like.

To Gary, I'm not angry, I just couldn't think of a way to say that better. I'm quite happy. And no, I've neither been saved nor plan to be saved in the future. I do respect Jesus though, he seemed like a cool guy. His followers are the ones that can be off.

I'll have to go with the evolution one... reason being, I have personally witnessed the misinformation that the Christian church spreads about the evolutionary process. I've heard the Christians speakers telling their "flock" the "facts" about evolution, that are clearly, and laughably false.

And the congregation laughs and claps as the "expert" continues to show how ridiculous evolution is. Unfortunately, what they call the 'facts' are nothing of the sort. They're not even remotely accurate, and anyone, including an atheist, would laugh at such silly ideas, as well. (Such as a dog giving birth to a cat, as a step of evolution)

I see these people reciting the same crap I heard years ago at my church. I didn't know any better at the time. But boy, let me hear a preacher teaching that crap near me some time, now. I will walk right up to that lying bastard and embarrass him right there in front of his congregation.

The fact that these people get away with propogating these lies about established scientific facts is appalling. It borders on fraud, as far as I'm concerned, and should be prosecuted as such.

Excellent and articulate question. Possibly the most frustrating and infuriating thing, to me, is the fact that you can present a perfectly good case for something, supported by sound argument and objective evidence, and yet people will still say "oh well my religion says that is wrong, so it must be wrong". It's that determined, closed-minded, wilful ignorance that really gets to me. These people are so profoundly out of touch with reality that even when you hit them over the head with it, they STILL refuse to see it. Fascinating, scary and very, very annoying.

It's hard to say. I'm going to have to go the other way and say that Irreducible complexity bothers me the least, but only because it's the most seldom used out of those. It's always the eye, too... I can't believe they don't realize that there are creatures even today with very simple eyes that can only detect light and dark, yet they do very much help that creature survive.

Consistent misunderstandings on evolution. People think that because some 2000 year old book tells them they don't have to understand the modern theory, even though it presents mountains of overwhelming evidence.

I think what makes me angry among these things is the people who state these as truths yet, dont realize they were never intended to be. Like you said, we obviously did not evolve from monkeys, yet there are pleanty of evolutionists who keep that claim. People tend to argue points and ideas they simply are not educated in. Athiests argue against things they THINK are in the Bible and are not, or assume are Christian teachings and are not... even though they will be told by Christians countless times, "this is not in the Bible" or "This is not a Christian practice" it is easier to just not change your mind. Christians do the same, as well as people of other faiths. Once someone has set their mind against something, nothing can ever be said in favor of it and be heard.

I dislike Creationism intensely. Not only are the proponents of it profoundly ignorant, they are actively proud of that fact. They misrepresent scientific findings, re-quote long-disproven claims as though they were truth, and outright lie to keep their fantasy going. It's like a little kid determined to believe in Santa CLaus no matter what.

Pascal's wager is annoying.

As far as the "misconceptions" about creation---I take it all in stride. We have about a billion theories as to how we got here, and I guess we'll never really know will we?

Nothing makes me angry about any of those because I know the truth and have the joy of Jesus...How about you Pal?

Have you repented of your sins yet.
Things would make a lot more sense for you if you did...and you wouldn't be such an angry person.

As annoying as atheists that have never read the Bible thinking they know and understand the Bible better than Christians and even scholars?

People are always twisting facts to justify their own belief systems. It's very common from the very religious to the atheist.
