There are too many statements to consider, but I think the most ridiculous was about the rapture, when the graves are supposedly going to open up and the skeletal remains will go up to heaven, followed by the believers who are alive.

When I asked a believer about HOW this would be done (considering how people would go through walls, ceilings, etc., and thinning oxygen levels in the atmosphere, and cold temperatures), I was told that Jesus will send UFOs to Earth and collect everybody.

Uh-huh. Now, how much money do I have to give as a down payment for the Statue of Liberty?

..Death for someone who believes in god is not a punishment. Death is just a glorification it means going to heaven, it means leaving this Earth. I believe it might have been, "why are all these non-believer's obsessed with what we believe and what we say"

I consider this quite stupid because he knew the answer

which is: the only people more bizarre than bible thumpers are anti-bible-thumpers whose ideology is even more narrowminded, more obsessive, and less comprehensible than the thumpers themselves

both sides of religious arguing mystify me completely

both ideologies seem reasonable given certain different premises, but the argument and emnity (such as exhibited by this question, as well as similar things by the thumpers) is beyond comprehension

In a revival years ago in a small country church I heard a preacher make the following statement in the midst of a message which had no relevance to this statement whatsoever: "They never had it so good. We brought them over here from swinging in trees and eating bananas!" And he wasn't talking about monkeys or apes. Needless to say I never attended that church again.

"Have you found Jesus?"

My response..."I didn't know he was f-ing lost."

I'm not like that anymore. I used to frequent a part of town with a lot of clubs and bars and the "thumpers" where out there trying to "save" everyone and after having been asked this question about a dozen times in one night I got a little irritated.
