Want a boyfriend like 90% of the time? Is it that we want the security of having that "guy" or as a popularity thing? Also, how come movies and tv shows with what seem to be "perfect" realtionships make girls jealous?

Some teenage girls are like that.... but at 17 I highly value my independence, and don't need a guy to make me feel popular or secure. I have great friends who do that for me. If I happen to meet a good guy, then that's great, but I'm perfectly fine without one.

its not that we want a boyfriend its just that we would like to have one 90% of the time....its not about security its just about knowing that you have a boyfriend...and as for the tv shows...they are beyond rediculous and pointless and its because the TV industry is over run by sexist guys

Its all about the popualrity issue. Because everyone else has one you want one too. The reason it makes girls jealous to see a movie or tv show with a "perfect" realationship is because it's a fanasy that's not likely to happen to them.

More like envious... they envy girls on tv who are in good relationships. The whole thing with wanting a boyfriend is DEF a high school thing. I think when girls get a bit older they realize that they are better off single.

it's like, they feel left out 'cause other people have bf's, but they think something's wrong with them because they don't have one. It's complicated. Bottom line, teenage girls want bf's to feel secure and not left out

It's a growing up thing " my friends all so it why can't i" type thing. When girls start to realize that boys don't have cooties and icky!
