Sleeping bags do not "zip" around the head. Mummy bags have a draw string that tightens around the head. You did not discuss your minimum nightly temperature, so it is difficult to recommend a sleeping bag. However, you should have a tarp and insulating materials beneath your sleeping bag. Absolutely! Bags with a zipper allow you to get in and out of the bag easier, and adjust for temperature. Also they keep you warmer in cold weather by not allowing drafts to come in.

to be honest, i toss and turn when im sleeping and i need leg room... if i was in a zipped up sleeping bag i would feel like REALLY closterphobic...so i think it just depends on how u sleep papi =)

With zips... they will hold in the warmth better- and hopefully help keep creepy little critters out- at least a little :-)

yes...
you can adjust your body temperature.. let in cool air if you're too hot... also, you can sometimes zip bags together this way...
