It depends whether you're interested in speaking the language or being able to write it fluently .
If you want to speak it, I suggest you get yourself; a satellite dish installed, this will allow you to watch Free-to-air French tv channels (and those from other countries too) and listen to French web radio/read French newspapers on the internet.
If you want to learn to write it too, why don't you ask a friend that has a pc or audio cd based French course if you can borrow it (not copy it)? That way you will be able to lear it for free

You could go to the library and check out French tapes for free. All you need is a library card.
