Just wondering if it can be done.

This is actually pretty simple. What you need is some milk, some spice (cinnamon, or nutmeg, or even just sugar) for grit, and a small crockpot like pan. It can be done in a standard pan, but trust me... for the sake of cleaning, you want to use a little crock pot.

You need to put down a base of like half the choc bar and some of the milk, enough so the entire bottom is covered. As it heats up and starts to melt, you want to add some more milk and stir, repeat, etc. Keep the consistency thick until the entire amount you originally put in is melted. Then add in more squares/shards of the choc bar to the mix, add more milk, and MAKE SURE it is not hot enough to boil along the way.

Once you've done the whole thing, add some more milk and the "gritting" spice (I like cin/sugar combo, but to each their own) and maybe some vanilla powder. If you also add maple sugar, or melt down some pure maple candies, it will give an interesting twist, or you can pour in a **small** amount of Davinci hazelnut syrup.

With a little practice, and some rad redi-whip/fudge sauce topping, people will swear you've served them the best ever hot chocolate.

You can melt a Hershey bar in some milk, but I'm not sure how well they'll blend together and stay blended. I'd think if that was an effective way to make 'hot chocolate' some manufacturer would have that as an option to syrup or powder.

Whenever my great grandmother used to make us hot chocolate, she would cut up a regular sized hershey bar and put the squares in there to melt with the cocoa. It was really good and the best hot chocolate we had ever had.

No. I love chocolate but good Lordy, that's too much for me. I'd either share with people or make a lot of cookies for sharing with people. Lol. Plus I don't need all the calories that are in that huge bar. :P

Yes, and here's how I did it.
I have a mini espresso/cappachino machine.
I melted the bar in the microwave, and steamed in in the carafe with whole milk. Then I poured it in a cup and topped it with whipped cream and coco powder. I want some right now! It was really, really good.
You can make white hot chocolate the same way, using white chocolate bars.

YES! :o)

Break the bar into smaller pieces.
Microwave it ON LOW for 30 seconds in a mug.
Pour milk in that mug after the chocolate softens.
Stir.
Microwave again on MEDIUM for 30 seconds.
Marshmallows or whip cream on top!

Yes, break up the pieces so it melts faster and stir into a pot of milk.
