Muslim Women?

I asked a question about marriage and many replied very nicely and sincere. I was shocked by the depth of how hard core Muslim women are treated in their religon. So knowing this now, since a Muslim women can not marry or date outside of her religion, what happens if a Muslim woman was attacked or raped? **this is a serious question, if you wish to mock, by all means, but I am curious to see if the women is punished for the crime of another** Are they cast out? Is this considered dishonorable? If so, what is the punishment?

**Second note - How come a Muslim Man can date outside his religion but not a women? Seems like women are treated like second class citizens or that men are greater then women in Islam. Is this incorrect?

If a Muslim woman is raped, its not her fault, like a social or cultural problem she may have difficulties but as per religion she is still no different.

Men as well as women can not "date". There are a few "details" to how men can marry "women of the book" from religions other than Islam and not vice versa.

First, dating is not allowed in Islam, for both men and women. The only allowed deep relationship between man and woman is legal marriage. Adultery is not just a sin in Islam. It's one of the seven Greatest Sins. And both man and woman receive the same punishment for adultery.

Second, the raped woman is a victim. The Islamic rules never punish the victim for the crime of the guilty. Some Eastern societies believe in special ancient traditions like throwing all the blame on the raped woman instead of punishing the guilty. This is not Islamic at all. It's not even human.

So if there are Muslim women a Muslim man is supposed to marry one of them. Also, in the case a Muslim man marries a woman of the book he cannot force her to change her religion.

I strict Islamic law, if a woman is raped she is guilty of adultry and can be executed. Pakistan is currently trying to soften this position and it is causing a lot of trouble there.

As for men dating non-Muslims, I would suppose it has something to do with the notion of subjegating other peoples, but I have not read anything in particular about this.
