as long you know this person is not a drug addict, alcohol abuser, a paedophile, murderer or a plain lair.

I am all for it. I've met 2 boyfriends through online dating. I met the first guy face to face, but he ended up being a liar (not on MAJOR major points, but major enough to make us break up) and I guess I wasn't good enough for mr. "my standards are too high for any real girl to meet". but that was well over a year ago. I have since met another guy online through the same dating service. we've known eachother since May and have spent time together 3 times now (we were both hesitant about meeting face to face.) now that we have met and we really like each other and have been completely honest with one another, I will be moving in with him into his home in another state. he is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

plus, I know 3 other people that are married to someone they met online and they are VERY happy together.

I think we've all kinda been there at one point or another but I think the simple fact is you cant have a real connection with someone without being face to face, and lets not forget how often things can get misconstrued over the internet because your missing alot of the communication by not talking to them in person. I think online dating is for those who are more interested in the fact of "being in a realtionship" than the actual relationship its self.

It can be hurtful and very dangerous if you get connected with the wrong person. There are to many physo and to many perverts that make online dating hard for the people who are serious about it. You have to ba careful and not give out to much information cause you will be found and maybe even killed.

It rocks! I met my fiancé online. In the last 5 years, that's been the only way I even met people, through online personals. Don't know what I would do without it.

Im scared of someone messing about and hurting me. My brother met his girlfriend online and they have been together 4 years so I guess it can work out, but Im still scared of it.

I hate computers, but met my girlfriend of 3 years via Yahoo Personals. I only did it out of curiosity. Fate indeed is a strange thing.

it has it good points and bad ...... you can talk to them alot on line ,phone before meeting them .....but then when you do meet they may not be who they said .... its abit like a blind date if you think about it ....so if you do meet do it somewhere where you will be safe and make sure family or friends know where you are going ...just don't rush in to anything
