mine too....
gosh i have a poodle i kept him in the cage and play with my minipin, she used to be demure and slow, but now.. she jumps in 4 feet, she runs like a minipin and barks like a minipin, it may have been the environment influence...

Consider that the *shortest* distance Greyhound race is about 500 meters, and the *longest* Olympic sprint is 400 meters. The Greyhound maintains speeds of 42 mph for *at least* 100 m further than an Olympic Athlete. I'm fairly certain that a Greyhound could still beat the "World's Fastest" Man or Woman in any race. As far as maintaining speed -- the record human Marathon speed is about 12 mph over 26.2 miles (a 4+ minute mile). Winners of competitive sled dog mid-distance races typically run a 3+ minute mile, in races of 25-50 miles. They can go further faster than any top marathon runner. Last year Egil Ellis won the Open North American Championships with a time of 3 hours 39 minutes. The race is divided into two 20 mile heats, and a 30 mile heat (70 miles total). This means that his dogs essentially ran 20+ miles an hour for the entire distance of all 3 heats. And a sled dog team is only as fast as its slowest dog.

No it's not weird. Some dogs are energetic for a long time. We have a 10 year old golden retriever who's very hyper, not quite as hyper as our 15 month old golden.

No, dogs should always remain active. And your dog isn't that old, I had one that lived longer than I had at the time- 15 or 16!

She sounds like a happy healthy dog to me, maybe hard to keep up with but I bet you'd rather have her happy and hyper than sick or worse.
