As far as you are concerned, you can do as you wish. There is a potential, though, that your TA could get in trouble if he isn't following university policy. My university, for example, has a policy that you cannot give a grade to anyone that you are in a romantic relationship with. Some other schools, though, probably have more of a "don't ask, don't tell" policy. If you like this boy, you won't want him to get in trouble for dating his student. I recommend that he talk to his supervisor and check the regulations about TAs to make sure it's okay for them to date students before you go ahead. Maybe you guys should just wait until the end of the semester.

1. You've got to be kidding. You think that you are the first female student he's asked out? Guess again.
2. Naivety will get you in a whole world of hurt.
3. Date men who are students, not teachers.
4. Concentrate on your studies, or you've wasted a big financial investment.
5. I don't know what university you are attending, but most call it sexual harrassment. The two should not mix for very good reasons.
6. If you don't understand the reasons, then see a therapist who can explain it to you. There may be one on campus.
Good Luck.

How would you feel if your TA/ boyfriend gave you a bad grade on a paper? Dating your TA skirts the boundaries of ethical behavior in academia. He holds the power in the relationship. He could become very angry with you and retaliate by giving you a lower grade.
It may be in your best interest to either find another class that will fit your current schedule; or not date the TA until you have completed the class.

This is morally and ethically wrong. Your TA is like your professor. He has control over your grades. Dating you can be considered taking advantage of you. He can be suspended/expelled from college or university, and so can you. He will loose his assistantship. Wait until the end of the term to date this guy. In this way, there are no problems with grades, etc.
You can get into BIG trouble. Hold off on dating. Please.

I think it's okay to go out and get to know him a little better now but don't get into a romantic/sexual relationship until after the class is done. That means no kissing, no holding hands, no physical contact and you must be strong and adhere strictly to the rules. Tell him the truth and be up front with him. If he's just using you, he won't wait around but if he is genuine, he'll respect you more.

speaking as a former TA myself dating a student is fine except if the school finds out especially if he grades the tests and papers you wrote they may have to be checked by the actual prof. Also if you do date and it goes sour he might take it out on your work then he gets fired and you have to repeat the course.
I'd say don't risk it but its really upto you it also depends on what size school it is larger schools its easier to get away with unless something between you goes sour. small schools the prof might find out and fire him or if the prof is cool with it might just take him off your classes schedule so as to help other students from making comments about why your getting good grades and they aren't possibly to the dean or school president.

Well if it was your teacher, that would be a whole different story. But I don't see anything wrong with a TA. After all, I'm sure you're both close in age.

If you are in the United States and your college is accredited, your TA will be fired and you will either be suspended or expelled.
The American Colleges and Universities Ethics Code strictly forbids this sort of relationship.

Can you say "conflict of interest"? I'd apply the same rules to this situation as I would to dating a co-worker -- or more specifically, your superior at work. Bad scene, honey.....
Now if neither of you mind waiting until after you've completed the course, and there can be no accusations of impropriety, that's something else entirely...
