If you remember the story/myth of Odysseus and the sirens...where the "singing" of the sirens drove men crazy...causing them to shipwreck......Odysseus had his men plug their ears with wax so the sirens' songs wouldn't affect them and then had himself lashed to the ship's mast....
The "songs" that the sirens sang....
told each person the exact time/place/manner of their death...that's what caused them to go crazy....
So....even way back then...the knowledge of the details of one's own death was seen as a horrifying experience

At least, I have the opportunity to set things in order for me, such as buying the nicest dress to wear for the event, enjoy every remaining moments of my life, prepare myself not to leave so much expenses to my family covering for my funeral expenses and leaving a will ( if i have) so that those I left behind will not have to quarrel over the small bar of Tobleron I hid in my drawer.
In fact, would it not be good if everyday you prepare yourself ready for any eventualities such as that? I am not a fatalist but there are times it helps to be ready for what lies tomorrow. Oftentimes, you are pressed to do the right and joyful things when you think you are going to die tomorrow

I'd rather not know. But that is always me. I'm the kind of person who procrastinates from looking at posted exam scores. Because the longer I delay it, the longer I do not know I've failed an exam, and the longer I get to live in la la land!

I'd like to know so I could prepare my family. So I could make sure they know how to do the checking account ect.. I usually am the one getting stuck doing it. And whenever I mention the possibility, they ingore me. This way I could say a time.
I am not worried or nervous about dying. My soul will be with Jesus. I know that. I would only worry about what would happen to my family after I'm gone.

No, I'd rather not to know about it. After all, what I don't know won't hurt me. Why would anyone want to live under that kind of stress? You'd be counting minutes and seconds, and you would just go up the wall!

Yes. I would rather know because in this way I would be aware of each day's importance. I would enjoy each and every moment left... Life is a unique gift and we shouldn't waste it.

You'd spend the rest of your life worrying about it. Just live like it's your last day.

You got that right, no way do I want to know. It's bad enough knowing it has to happen, but, what if it's terrible? Ughhh, I'd as soon have it over as soon as it began.
