I have a bet with my mother funny as it sounds she is as stubborn as a mule. Trying to tell a 34 year old man he's wrong all the time. She says most restraunts use imitation CRAB LEGS....I said thats absurd....They may use imitation meat not imitation Legs. I said most restraunts either use Alaskan King Crabs, Snow Crabs or Dungeonous Crabs. Am I correct?

Well....I do not believe that I have ever heard of such a thing as imitation crab LEGS. I'm pretty sure nothing of the sort exists.
As for the type of legs, the places I have been, usually specify.
Most commonly I get either King Crab or Dungeness (snow crab isn't meaty enough for all that work). Unless it's crab meat in a sauce, they specify the type of legs (though you can usually tell what kind of leg it is if you've had crab enough times). My preference? Alaskan King Crab legs. Absolutely delicious!

If they are serving crab legs it is either Snow Crab or King Crab. If they are just using crab meat it can be from any type of crab. You are right that there is no such thing as imitation crab legs, people don't make imitation crab shells.

Actually ,most mediocre restaurants will use a product called "sea legs",,,its an artificial crab meat,,,,although most upscale restaurants will use real crab meat. Crab cakes , salads or stuffings will generally be made with either a canned crab , or , if they overpurchase they ( hopefully ) rotate their stock and use the crab meat from claws and legs just before they're outdated,, and as far as types of crab,,,,,alot of the canned meat is just a smaller "Blue crab",,,,,the other crabs are too expensive for mixing,,,but I'm sure alot of upscale places use whatever is on their menu ( depending on location,,market price , etc )

It's Alaskan and Snow if you're eating it from the shell, but with most of the dishes made, yes they use the imitation stuff. It's cost efficient. That's why many can afford to eat at the restaurants.

i agree with you, plus imitation don't hold to good in heat. I see them used in kitchens for like sushi rolls.
