These charms can be used for many different reasons. One of the most popular is for cake pulls. What are those? you ask Well, you simply have your baker attach each charm to a length of ribbon and insert them in between the layers of of your cake with the ribbon extending out beyond the edge of the cake. Then at the reception you have each of your bridesmaids pull out a charm for good luck. Each charm represents a unique positive association or you can make your own
Other uses for the charms include using them for gift tags, charms around wine glasses, charms for necklaces or bracelets, and more! Your bridal party, mothers, flower girls, and friends will definitely have fun with these!
Traditionally, there were six charms:
1. The Heart -Love will come?
2. The Clover- Good luck?
3. The Engagement Ring -Next to marry?
4. The Anchor -Adventure awaits?
5. The Flower -Love will flower?
6. The Horseshoe- Lucky in life?
Today, as wedding charms have become popular again, and, presumably since the bride has more than six women who are dear to her, other charms have been created. Some other charms you can find are:
The Wreath -A happy home?
The High Chair -Blessed with children?
The Rocking Chair- Longevity?
The Airplane -travel and adventure?
The Satchel -Good fortune?
The Mirror -A Happy Life?
The ribbon pulling should occur before the cake is cut and can be announced by your master of ceremonies.usually the charms meaning is on the ribbon.
A Victorian Tradition, to make your wedding grand. In days of old, charms of luck and good fortune were placed into the wedding cake. The custom of "Ribbon Pulling" dates back to the Victorian England when the bride hid small charms attached to ribbons within the layers of her wedding cake. The tradition has made a "charming" comeback with our sterling silver wedding cake pull charms.
hope that helps
What did you get any of the ones I listed Hope you got the Wreath or mirror!

Silverplated Wedding Cake Charms
Silverplated Wedding Cake Charms are an inexpensive way to have fun with the "ribbon pulling ceremony." The silverplated cake charms are not jewelry quality and are not recommended for charm bracelets. Each wedding cake charm has a meaning: Anchor-Adventure Awaits; Ring-Next to Be Engaged; Horseshoe-Lucky in Life; Clover-Lucky in Life; Fleur de Lis-Love Will Flower; Heart-Love Will Come.

My mom does this for our Christmas pudding. ( ahh tradition, I miss christmas already!)
Anchor is stability and safe harbor.
Traditionally in England, small silver charms were baked in the plum pudding. A silver coin would bring wealth in the coming year; a tiny wishbone, good luck; a silver thimble, thrift; an anchor, safe harbor.
