As supposed to what? a resident Alien?
If that is the question then, loving this country and what it stands for is the only possible answer. As there are no legal benefits and a myriad of tax related issues the new citizen exposes himself to.

Probably living free without laws and culture restrictions.
Also some areas like the desert or arctic regions have VERY harsh climates which most people would find unfavourable.

The job opportunities and just being able to live here in general.
My parents both became citizens because their jobs moved here and I think thats why most come, for jobs and money and the opportunities.
