My birthday is this Saturday, and I'm taking a trip down to NYC - I have enough time for a long lunch, and I was wondering if anyone had tips on where to eat? My first choice, based on web research (mainly, celiacchicks.com) is risotteria - plus, I got a paninni from there a year ago, and I'm still licking my lips from the taste.

I'd really like a pizza, and I know they have a gluten-free rice crust pizza.

But my question is - does anyone have any other good ideas? I'll probably go there, but if there's a FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC garbage pie on a celiac-friendly crust somewhere in NYC, I WANT IT.

Thank you. :)

i heard about this place it must be really cool and it's a Vegan pastry shop!! She has wheat-free, dairy-free, egg-free, sugar-free, cakes. I read about it in Food and Wine, so must be pretty good :) It's Called BabyCakes, and it's located in Manhattan. If you go there, please tell me how it is :) oh yeah the chef's name is Erin McKenna. Some ppl found this kinda of stuff tastless, but i think it's worth a try.
