I know it can be very tempting to compare babies with your friends babies , but i think basically what most people have said here is probably right.
Is it soley on weight alone you are worried ? If so there is no reason to suspect that your baby is not healthy at all, if however your baby is sickly , not developing or some kind of alarm bells are going off , then just discuss your worries with your health visitor , assuming your in the UK , or your equivalent say practice nurse or you family doctor ..
Genetics actually seems to me to a be a big factor .
I am big built and tall , my other half is tall and very slim consequently i have two very healthy sized girls and a very slight little boy, saying that he was my lightest baby at 8lb 2 and he was my 3rd my babies got lighter rather than heavier my first was 9lb 4 quite a gap and the weight has remained consistent and yet the slight boy eats way more than my well built girls .
So I would say unless there is any other reason than the differing weights you have nothing to worry about , but why ont just have a health professional check you baby out then youll feel easier.....just enjoy your baby cos that phase is over with so quickly..

Bottle fed babies put on weight faster than breast fed babies do. Also, you cannot compare weights and ages, you have to look at the size of the parents - tall, large people will have a bigger baby than small, fine boned people, regardless of birth weight. You have to take in growth spurts, metabolism (some babies wriggle and cry all day, others lie there all placid and sleeping) . The difference in weights does not mean that one child is more healthy than another, just that the two babies have different DNA

it doesn't matter what the weight is at birth it depends on the mother and fathers gentic make-up if you and your partner are small frames then your baby will tend to be. Is the other babies parents big build? or fast metabolism? really it should matter. Let me tell you something figure this out.
my first baby was 7lb 5ozs, second baby 8lb15ozs, 3rd baby 9lb 20zs why the big gap between first and third baby? The gentic make-up i have a slight frame, my hubby has a large frame hence the size of babies, not necessary true in all cases though. Enjoy your baby don't worry if your baby is eating well and doing stuff it should don't worry.

Were the babies the same weight when they were born, even if they were this doesnt matter. As you know everyone is an individual and all babies grow at different rates depending on their genes and the size of their parents and such. We remain individual all through our lives.I wouldnt worry about the weights so much as long as the babies are healthy and eating ok.

Well, it isn't a good idea to compare weight solely on age. Normal weights for infants vary. Pediatricians use a growth chart to monitor height and weight. This is probably the best tool. As a rough scale, a infant should double his birth weight at 6 months of age and should triple his birth weight at 12 months of age.

I would say both babies are healthy, but if you're still concerned you could always contact your child's pediatrician (or family Dr) and ask. Also check out some reputable resources on the web.

If you look in your child health book you should be able to plot his height and weight (and head circumference if measured correctly) on a percentile chart. This should show whether he is within normal limits,
Also you need to take into account, parental size, level of activity of the child, have they been ill recently. Your Health Visitor of physician would be able to reasurre you

ll babies grow at different stages. if you are worried go to the health centre and get him weighed. if you go to them on a regular basis if they was any concerns they would tell you . but so long as you r baby is eating and drinking and is not screaming your house down he-is probably find .you cant compare babies
like that they are all individuals and so long as you are give him
lots of fruit and veg and a variety of food if he on solid yet , he will be fine. but if you are worried go to your local clinic and talk to the health visors.

just because they were born in the same month and they weigh different amounts, doesn't mean that one baby is more healthy then the other.
