They like to sniff all the different scents in the air from the car window. There's so many it's very interesting for dogs. It's nothing to do with the wind on their faces.

That is a good question - I hadn't thought about it before!
I think it is because they like the cool, fresh air from the windows, but when you blow on them the air is quite warm and stale. It is likely that they can tell the difference, as we can.
It could also be partly because, the air from the windows is expected, whereas when you blow on them it is unexpected.
I hope this helps:>)

The same reason you'd stick your head out the window but probably not like it if I blew in your face?

nicely, who would not like the wind blowing of their face? The wind consists of various smells that tell canines approximately their ecosystem. who's been interior the section, what ingredients are being served, etc... i believe maximum folk do unlike having somebody blow of their face, yet will placed the suited down interior the vehicle or open abode windows of their properties just to get a breeze. not that distinctive from canines.

I remember this question. We emit carbon monoxide and I believe it was said that it is uncomfortable to them. As for them sticking their heads outside the window, it's fresh air. I'm sure you would dislike it if someone blew in your face. =)

I think I saw this exact question in a book called "Imponderables". I forget what the answer is, but it was a logical and thoughtful answer. Though I think it's not that they don't like it... it's like catching bubbles, they are just snapping at the air trying to 'catch it'. Check it out. (muttering to self: I know I have that book around here somewhere...)

Just a normal reaction. I've often turned it into a game with my dogs and they always come back for more.
