I'm assuming that he will be let in but you really need to contact US Immigration and/or the US Customs Bureau at the links below to pose this question to them directly and to see what is required of you and your son. Our government (like most others) wants to know if visitors have committed any serious crimes, if they have criminal records, etc. In addition, it would surely seem like a great waste of time, money, and effort if you plan the trip, don't go through the proper channels and, as a result, your son isn't allowed entry to the US.

if your from Uk you dont need a visa for three months so it makes no difference if your son goes on holiday. There are no checks and there are no criminal record micro chips on your passport
The problem will only arise if you need a visa. Then no they will not let him live in the USA Usa immigration is very strict and would give him a very hard time even if your son was 50yrs and commited the crime at 14

If you are out of the US and want to get in to visit Las Vegas the answer is YES because he is a felon.

If you are already in the US no one in immigration will ever know.

No but just look upon the US detention centres as a kind of creche for bigger kids.
Not many countries will offer a babysitting service paid for by taxpayers while you enjoy your holiday.

you will be required to get a Visa from the American consulate in london for him

he will have to attend in person and be interviewed then they will tell him if he will be issued with a Visa check the website

as it's for arson he may not be allowed a Visa

If you just take him he could and probably would be refused entry
