Limit your self to 40 carbs a day or less. Exercise at least 30minutes a day at least 5 days a week and consume smaller portions...you should lose at leat 4 lbs a week.

Don't go an a diet....you will go off it, change your lifestyle

The best diet is not about food at all. The best diet begins in the mind, in the perception, and in the heart. The best diet is living well and treating yourself to a healthy lifestyle. Releasing judgement and really loving yourself, will provide a nurturing environment for change. Taking a nutrition course can be a good start. Preparing and swapping healthy recipes with friends and family can make learning new ways of eating fun and interesting. Choosing not harm yourself by self soothing with food or restricting yourself through deprivation is a healthy option...or consulting a specialist like Sheena's Place in Toronto if eating patterns are extreme or out of control. The best diet is to already see yourself as a precious human being--already perfect and wanting to be as healthy as you can possibly be. Losing weight is easier if you release criticism (self and other imposed) for not being the perfectly perceived size 2, 6, 12, 22. When you love yourself you will also find yourself moving more just because it feels good. All of this will mean that your ideal body mass finally emerge and it seemed effortless.

The cambridge diet, specifically the maintenance plan where you eat 3 servings of cambridge a day plus 1 or 2 reasonable lower calorie meals. The Cambridge is a nutritional supplement that provides your body with all of it's nutrition. It's healthy but still tastes good and is cheap. My cousin is 5'4 and weighs close to 300 lbs and she's losing tons of weight on it and says she feels great. My dad's losing weight too using it and he's a diabetic. It's a family thing for us. HAHA!

Most importantly you must stick to whatever you decide you will eventually go with, but here are a few tips:

Nothing fried, broiled, grilled or boiled
starches should be measured to about 1/2 cup
Lots of veggy but you need to know which ones are the "free" ones (this means they do not make you gain weight like lettuce)
fruits are considered high in fructose so they need to be monitored as well.
Take multi vitamins drink lots & lots of water and instead of three big meals try have 5 smaller meals three of them being your main meal.
Don't forget to exercise early in the moring is best it increases your metabolism but I would see a nutritionist or your phsysician so they can help you get started the healthiest way

Good Luck

dont count carbs or calories....take this as a rule of thumb. Join a gym, go at least 4 times a week for at least an hour. (i recommend the ymca). Dont eat out very much, cook healthy suppers for yourself at home. eat fresher foods and veggies, drink juice instead of pop, substitute healthier things for normal things you would eat regularly. You can eat what you want just eat it in moderation. (ie, like have a rich desert only once a week, or only go out to eat once a week to break the monotomy of cooking at home) Make a healthy lifestyle for yourself and stick to it, you will lose the weight and keep it off. (i joined the y and loved it, i was on a 12 week program (which is free with 3 consultations with a trainer) and i lost inches around my waist and started to loose my flab and gained muscle tone and strength, and i had fun.) hope this helps!

I suggest looking into the newly developed weight management program called Cinch which was developed by a company with the highest integrity and has been in business for 50 years.

On most diets, you lose muscle, as well as fat. When you lose muscle, you lose some of your body's ability to burn fat, and your metabolism drops.

The doctors, nutritionists, and scientists at this company drew upon years of sports and nutrition science to create an easier and healthier plan. In a recent preliminary clinical trial, the scientists tested a proprietary formula enhanced with the amino acid leucine. People in the program lost fat, weight, and inches while retaining 100% of their lean muscle.

Hope this is helpful and for the website, feel free to contact me.

The best diet is always fruits, vegetables and plenty of fluids. Regarding weight loss you should balance your input and output. Eat as much carbohydrates and fats as are essential for your exertion needs and never more. Each gram of carbs produces 4 calories and fats 9 calories. Balance your diet in such a way that net results comes out to be zero, that is, you should burn all the carbs and fats of your diet. And in your case you have to exert more as you have to burn your body fat too. But some proteins in our daily diet are always recommended because they strengthen our muscles.

Limit yourself to 1500 calories or less a day and exercise for at least 30 minutes 5 times a week. I lost almost 100 pounds that way! (And it wasn't really a diet. More of a lifestyle change. Diets don't work. You have to change your lifestyle.)

My wife and I each lost 60 lbs on weightwatchers. It is desinged to provide a slower weight loss while teaching you how to make lifestyle changes that will help you keep the weight off. I like it because it is not extreme and has been tested over time. You might check out their website to see if it is something that will work for you.

The ammount of calories/carbs is irrelevant. It's the type of calories/carbs. Avoid processed foods, because they all turn into fat. Eat "healty" natural foods. You don't even have to give up meats and eat like a rabbit.
