I'm doin g a research project (in America) for my AP US gov class, and I was writing the sentance

"We aught to realize how lucky we are; instead of filling in the bubble for the candidate who has more commercials (or just sitting at home on election day), making an educated choice..."

anyways, then I thought about it: do you really fill in a bubble, or do you write the guys name, or what? Sorry, I know, weird/stupid question. But since I'm only 15 (tomorrow), I wouldn't know.

Thanks!

It depends, the ballot is different for different areas. Right now, in my area, we are working with the electric ballots, and even those are different in different districs. I did a quick sample ballot search and the result is below. Pretty much that shows up on a screen and there are buttons on the side to push for that particular candidate (in my area anyway). The choices show up with large boxes next to them to let you know where the button for that issue is. For a write in there is a specific slot for that where you can write on the screen.

The Ballot I used for the Presidential election in washington was simmilar to a #2 pencil test from a school...

the real reason I'm answering this is I noticed you had questions about living in your van to save money durring school -- I did a ton of research about 3 years ago, bought a 76 vandura, stripped it and added solar panels, wi-fi antenna (internet), a shower, fridge etc. and have been living in it since while going to school for web design (1 quarter left). If you still have any questions I'd be happy to share recources cause I know it's kind of an unconventional thing to do and not always easy to get answers for. sincerely -M

It depends on where you're voting.
Some places you do indeed fill in a bubble, some places you punch a hole in it, some places you pull a lever on a big machine, and some places you use a computer. You have the option to write in a candidate as well, but the names of registered candidates will already be printed.

It is a bubble on my ballot. Some are punch cards with chads, others are electronic. Stick with what you have, many voting systems are scantrons/fill-in-the-bubble.
