Shots are not always the best answer and are very expensive to maintain.
The best way allergies have been explained to me is that we each have a tolerance level that can be compared to a glass of water. Each thing that you are allergic to equals so much water in the glass. When the water flows over the top of the glass you become miserable, sneezing, watery eyes etc. The only way to become to get rid of the misery is to keep your glass or tolerance level from overflowing. So if you know what else yuo are allergic to and can eliminate that or reduce it, you might become tolerant to the dog.
in my case, the pet was a cat. I was miserable for over six months. Bought an air cleaner, put dustmite free covers on my bed and pillows, kept the cat out of the bedroom. (also allergic to dust mites) I can now tolerate the cat since my other allergens are not at such a high level.

Sharper Image has 2 things: 1) ionic brush, it can neutralize the irritants. 2) ionizer. I have 1 in each room....can also get a good one from Orekc, can buy both on EBay, but get one of these brands, don't waste money on cheaper ones. I've tried them, break, can't clean, don't work, etc.
Also, look thru phone book, call dog groomers & ask for products U can use to shampoo.

go see your doctor. there are medications that you can take to help with the allergies. be sure to keep the dog very clean as well and vacuum your living environment regularly. it might be good to set up rules that your dog can not get on the furniture or bedding - it will help you in some small way to breathe a little easier. good luck!

Over the counter Claritan-D 24 hour. Also shampoo the dog with shampoo that has greentea oil in it. Greentea oil is used in many homeopathic remedies and shampoos to reduce dander, dandruff, allergens, etc.

You may want to shorten the hair of the dog and also make sure you keep it well groomed.. the dander can be reduced with a special shampoo for dogs.

I take allergy shots. You may first want to try clariton or some over the counter anti histimine. If you are on other medications, check with your doctor first, however. Zyrtec works for my daughter with our "baby". Good luck...sniff sniff

they have great shots you can take that will help you to be able to tolerate the dog better. after a while taking the shot you should build up an immunity so the shots arent a forever thing and they dont hurt too much!
