Why is it that when people speak from their hearts and beliefs on this forum, they end up getting bashed with low ratings by other people who dont like their religion? Arent the ratings supposed to be about the answer itself and not the religious belief it may contain?? After all, this place dosent have a specification on the title "religion and spirituality"... please dont rant about this question... thats all it is: a question.

Like the guy above me said.....

It's a double-edged sword. I admit that I'm not using it as intended either. Not all the time anyway!

Perhaps if it were possible to see who's voting, it would clean things up. On the other hand, that could open up another can of worms. So I leave it up to the YA council to decide.

In the meantime, I enjoy my ups, and don't get too down on my downs!

I didn't see a reason given for the ratings. At first I thought, like you, that the ratings were for quality of answer (or question), not viewpoint. Then I noticed that that was not how people were using it. So I checked to see what it was for, and found no reason was given.

In the past, the ratings WERE for opinion.

So, personally, I've developed and use my own set of standards for ratings, mostly based on quality (seriousness, knowledgeable, grammar, etc.), but with some viewpoint indexing as well (facts vs. 'druthers, etc.).

I sometimes get good ratings and best answers from ornary people here.

Remember, there are a lot of 13 year old punks here!

What do you expect out of them!

They can barely tie their shoes, rarely get kissed by girls and are still virgins.

Everyone knows a guy don't get balls until he gets a car!

So, they sit at home all Friday and Saturday night because they're too afraid to ask the girl who really likes them to do something, so instead they make nasty comments here!

"Supposed to be" and "is" are two very different things.
