Well if you are running track you will get better the more you run. If this is for class, then you need to do extra things like biking or walking for 30 min. at a fast walk, do sit-ups and pushups as well. Hope this helps and I hope you do run track it is the best sport out there.

Do two things. First, slowly increase the number of laps. Starting right away, begin doing 5 laps. Do that for a week or so. Then make your routine 6 laps. A week later, 7 laps. A week later, 8 laps. This will strengthen your running muscles for the 4-lap test.
Second, every other lap, do half the lap at top speed, and half the lap at slow speed to recover. So for 4 laps, you'll speed up twice.
It's all about conditioning, building strength and endurance. You body just has to get used to running at a faster speed. There's no short-cut for this. It's called training. But you'll get there. You might even find that you like how your new running body feels, and continue to build more speed!

Practice practice practice. keep running the 4 laps, but also do more. try practicing running 6 laps at a time. when you get used to that, 4 laps will seem like nothing and you will be able to run it faster

walk to school in the morning and walk back home after school.
I assume you have books to carry. Get a backpack.
There is no quick fix for a 6th grader. I wouldn't recommend any formal training for a 6th grader.
Also, swimming is the best exercise for a 6th grader to gain physical fitness without worrying about injuries.
