my dog does the same thing... it is a SEVERE allergic reaction to flea bites. my dog has actually chewed bloody spots on her rear end. i have spent literally hundreds of $$$$ on flea killers this summer. frontline too... it helps but fleas will get on & bite then get off. my vet recomended selsun blue shampoo & it works but i would definetly take her to the doc. try spraying your yard & the inside of your home to kill all the fleas before the next time you bathe your dog.

she could be allergic to fleas like my dog is. get advantage (not frontline). many vets tell me that frontline is not very effective when it comes to flea treatment, even though its great for ticks. the fleas become immune to frontline very very quickly. i got advantage after using frontline and there is a huge difference in results.
also if she is allergic then take her to the vet to get a shot of penicillin. the thing is one flea bite on my dog causes her to break out in a terrible rash. so she chews and chews until she pulls all of her fur out where the rash is. the vet should also give you a cream to help soothe the itchiness. sometimes when i dont have the cream i put some vaseline on her skin where shes scratching and that usually calms her down for a while. i hope this helps.

Well with Frontline don't put that on your dog more then 1 time in the month. Rember that gives you 3 months against fleas and 1 month agianst ticks.
Another thing I would try is stop with the frontline and see if that helps. I have seen dogs that just can't have it on as they react to it something awful. And give your dog a very good bath. What does you dog eat even down to the treats you give him.

take her to the vet. have you recently changed her food? has she been bitten by something? check her outdoor environment. she may have an allergy to something. this may also be a manifestation of some mental trauma she is experiencing and is reacting to it through self mutilation. some dogs will fixate and lick themselves raw - i don't know why they do it, but it happens. you need to make her an appointment and take her to the vet soon. she could cause an infection (there are some nasty skin infections that dog can get). your vet is the only one who can help with this.
oh and don't use those flea treatments more often than the package says. she might be allergic to that - you gave it twice in one month? never use anything more than the package says.

Does she have dry skin? She may need some moisturizer. They have pet shampoos with deep conditioners in them for this reason. Otherwise, she may well be alergic to the Frontline and be having a reaction.

Maybe she has a rash, or if there is anything odd going on at home, dogs can sense those things. I knew someone who had cancer, and they're dog kept on scratching himself to the piont where he had no fur left in spots, then when this person died, the dog got better.

Is she flaking? Because my dog has the same problem, the vet diagnosed her with sebborhea. We just started her on some vita caps and biotin. Don't know how it will work but I've been assured that it will take several weeks to see results.

you could give her a benadryl tablet and see if that helps its sound like an allergy sometime that will help but not always.... you prolly will have to go to the vet,... i found out that my dog has a flea allergy even with the front line so now he takes prednazone... it helps a lot

Perhaps she has an allergic reaction to something, even the Frontline ... I'd consult your vet.
ALSO, do NOT overdose your dog on Frontline ... it's poisonous to them if given too much.

She could have mites, that causes them to have patches of hair missing. Take her to the groomer so she can have a dip. Its like a flea dip, but don't know what its called at the moment.
