Don't know about the red dye, but sugar, DEFINITELY. It is best (for the child and yourself) to keep the kid off sugar - and any and all drugs (including ritalin). A really good diet of high protein and veggies (thus low carb and sugars) will bring down his hyperactivity tremendously. This can be hard to do, but will be best for your child's health (and your nerves) overall.

Red dye makes some kids hyper. Sugar makes all kids hyper. And anything containing refined sugar can do the same. Sodas included.

i think of purple 4 is the only one with that stuff in it (may well be incorrect although) and so a approaches as i be responsive to, that's no longer the popular dye in any case, each time i glance my beverage incorporates purple 40, this is vegan. in fact, purple 4 has been categorized carcinogenic and can be phased out quickly (and is prevented by way of various communities besides vegans). i does not use it. The insect, whilst perhaps incapable of suffering, remains working around living this is autonomous existence, so for me to kill it would be only impolite, and to kill it because of the fact my juice wasn't purple sufficient is only loopy. Plus, if i will get maximum cancers from it then that makes it a foul selection all around (ok, so the prospect in all hazard isn't that widespread, yet why do it in case you do no longer ought to). in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, this may well be a type of issues that i do no longer look into. i do no longer pass finding for each and all of the main distant animal derived aspects, fortuitously, the beef ingesting crowds try this sufficient for me in an attempt to objective my “purity”. needless to say after getting to be responsive to that some thing is, in fact, animal derived i will shrink it from my weight-alleviation plan, yet I won't seek each and every obtainable component. My time is greater suitable spent if I stay a existence devoid of situation, and convince those that veganism is a tremendous thank you to stay (and as an extra bonus, if purely one individual sees my existence form and likes it sufficient to shrink a minimum of 0.5 of the animal products from their existence, a greater physically powerful proportion of animals are saved with the aid of our efforts than if I went around in seek of small info to make a individual's existence greater durable and turn them off to the existence form thoroughly. So, in the top, this is less demanding, and greater efficient). Oh, and bugs are animals.
