just saw this question. I sent an email with hopefully helpful info! I read that cheerios actually has a good amount of iron too. I never checked on this but i eat them anyway(honey nut cheerios of course). good luck!

Check out those breakfast cereals - Mini Wheats has 60% of regular daily requirement
Spinach and other greens
Meat is still the best source - it has a type of iron that the body needs that is not available from any other source. Also, don't forget your vitamin C, which you need to effectively process the iron.

Good sources of dietary iron include meat, fish, poultry, lentils, beans, leaf vegetables, tofu, chickpeas, black-eyed pea, strawberries and farina.
That said, spinach is merely a good source of iron, not a great one.

Remember that the body absorbs iron badly, so most 'iron fortified foods', and even many vitamins do not really help a lot.
