It's a competition between God and Satan. Whoever can get more souls is the supreme one.
Too much Pride got Satan kicked out of heaven in the first place.
He's eternally pissed at God, so he'll try to mess with the Lord
when there's an opportunity.
Satan likes to show off(too much pride). If he gets more souls than God, Satan
will tauntingly say "I can get more souls than you can".
Imagine the tone of a bratty kid saying those words, and you should have an interesting picture in your mind.

The other reason Satan wants more souls is for raising a dark
army to wage war against God.
It's a battle for supremacy.

Satan couldn't care less about your soul. He resents God, and we are the only way Satan has to get at God. Satan rejoices in depriving God of all the souls he dearly loves. Don't think for a minute that you matter even a little bit to Satan.

Good question. Satan, like many people seem to, just hates God. He knows that God loves people and wants them to be with Him. Satan will do all he can to prevent that. Satan would rather have people give their allegience to him. Now Hell is not Satan's "kingdom" where he gets to be in charge, but it is the place where he and all his followers will be sent for eternal punishment (separation from God).

Satan only cares that you do NOT get into heaven. From the beginning he wanted to be BETTER than God - that's why he was kicked out.

It's the "if I'm going down, I'm taking as many as I can with me" mentality.
He doesn't necessarily if you end up in Timbuktu, just as long as you don't worship Jesus NOW.

Of course he cares, he has managed to steer one of gods children on the wrong path and has won the battle for the soul, then he gets to torture the heck out of ya for eternity, i mean the people already there have seen it all, but the new people coming in are all ahhhhh this horrendous and they are just really horrified so satan loves that he gets off on it i'd imagine.

Yes, he cares. It is like a game to him. For every soul that goes to Heaven he has lost. For every soul that goes to hell, he adds one to his checkboard.
