There are people who became smart, intelligent and successful believing they owe those things from the help of someone more than just the people who took care of them or gave them the opportunity to become what they are. Say it was God or Jesus or whoever they think is the higher spiritual form they owe. So, for the gift they firmly believe it was coming from, they think it is just right to devote sometime as a way to give thanks. Anyways, devotion to Jesus is not merely for a being a priest, a deacon or or an altar server and not even to put oneself in a corner or a dungeon devoting to a prayerful activities but rather on being right on whatever he is doing every minute of his life as much as he can be.

First of all, your sentence isn't grammatically correct. Second, If you're just trying to get a rise out of people for personal thrills, congrats, I hope this kind of life is fulfilling for you, but if you're really asking this question because you want an answer look at the life of Lee Strobel, and read the Case for Christ. Only after you've done this can you respectfully mock an intelligent follower of Christ. I bet I can guess which kind of person you are.

A whole lot of Christians are well educated. God calls different people to do different things. If you don't believe in God, then maybe this "Smart Person" knows something you don't.

Why would you judge that person's choice at all?
Is it anyone's business but his/her own? I am an atheist but I am pretty sure that there are people a lot smarter than I am who have meaningful reasons for choosing a religious life.

Well maybe they see that they could put their life to a use and go preach and tell other people of the good word.
You see smarter people would realizwe that's a good choice and do that.

Because they had an epiphany. Hey, it happens in all religions. And only the person who makes the choice can say why.
