This would solve several problems. It would prove loyalty to the country. Help to protect our boarders. Win the war in Iraq.

i'm in the military and was born in mexico. and my loyalty is with the US because i been here since i was 1 yrs old and this is the country that helped me succeed. actully i had an old Supervisor were i was assiged to before and he said most of the best soldiers he had were illigal imigrants. i just barley got my citizenship in april. but i think they should do it for the country and not for there own well being.

There are already to many criminal sin the military as it is. There have been numerous stories of gang member in the military stealing weapon and getting weapons training. To turn around and use these skill and weapons in the street. It seems like a good idea, but it is not. Just round them up and kick them all out, build a big fence and pass stricter laws about employing illegals.

Many people join up to get citizenship. It won't win the war in Iraq though.

It doesn't prove anything though, i think if they get a job and prove they can contribute to society then they deserve citizenship. If they work in the military they might be very half arsed or if there isn't a war then they wouldn't do anything anyway.

Some people already do that. I think it is legal for a foreign national to join the US military. However, they must swear allegience to the US, and to defend the US against all enemies, foreign and domestic. That will include their home country if necessary.

Where do you people think the people in the military come from? Our courts for years have given young men a choose of jail or military. You know our senators and reps and presidents don't send their kids.........THINK ABOUT IT1

We have an excellent military, filling it up with lazy shirkers is not a good idea.

Let them serve in some banana republic pretend army if they must. A criminal gang is about all the organization they could cope with.

Actually people would be surprised at the number of non Americans who serve in our military. Kind of sad that we have foreigners who are willing to fight for us, and Americans who won't.
