I'm going on a high school trip to New York City?

I haven't gotten information about it yet but it's for HA Civics. Does anyone have any clue how much it might cost?

They said it includes travel by bus (5hrs.), food, and hotel accomadations.

then you just need "fun money" if you're going to museums and to the empire state building and stuff - plan on 10 bucks an entry - bring your student ID for discounts. T shirts will cost 5-20 depending on where you buy them. Prestzels are 2 bucks. Metro Card is 2 per ride (bus and subway). If you go to a show it will cost anywhere from 30-100. Depending on where you go and what you do and how long you are here I would bring $40--50 / day spending money providing the things you said above are covered.

My senior class went there last spring. I think it cost me around 400 with some, but not all meals included. That is also transportation from Youngstown, OH which is 8 hours from NYC. The rooms were included along with a ticket to Lion King and the Empire State Building. I spent around 100 on everything else there. If you are looking for souveniers, go to Chinatown. It's real cheap stuff but everything else in NYC is overpriced.

Wow... they are paying for the bulk of the expenses. Well... I'd tell you to bring $300 just to be safe and not ever get stranded without money. You will have money left over... unless you go shopping in designer stores and so forth... but you don't seem like the type that might do that.

Bring bills no bigger than 20s... so if you need to catch a cab in an emergency, you can pay for it (they won't take 50s or more).

If they are paying for all of your things, you could easily not spend any money, but it's nice to have it in case you get separated from the group.
