All three primary colors (red, blue & yellow) will make brown, and also complimentary colors (colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel), like red and green, yellow and purple, orange and blue.

If you're using watercolour - one of the more common media available to children - red with a small amount of black makes a lovely rich brown, known as 'bistre' to watercolourists.
Or start with yellow, add a small amount of red to make a golden orange colour, and then add a bit of black (or dark blue) to that.
Basically, the three primary colours (red, blue, yellow) make brown in pigmented hues (physical media).
---------------------
HOWEVER, if you are working with light, such as on a TV or computer screen, you will probably be mixing RBG (red, blue, green) to get your results - OR you will be using a CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black). Cyan is another name for blue, while magenta is a pinkish red.
A nice brown results with settings of 30% cyan, 50% magenta, 100% yellow, and 20% black. Most graphics programs have sliders on bars which represent these colours, and you simply have to adjust the bars up or down to choose the percentages. Anything roughly in those percentages will work.
Hope that helps!

Well, red, yellow and blue. But those are all the primary colors, so basically if you mix like orange(which is basically red and yellow) with any color that involves blue, you're good. Or just all the colors, as long as the primary colors (red, yellow, blue) ar all in there....The only reason im giving you this very long answer for a very simple question is because i want to be chosen best please! Did i mention i love you??? lol.

3 primary colours lol... it's not very nice unless u get the right proportions. A little more red and yellow with a splodge of blue should be about right.
