Either month! Might be better in January just because the Christmas rush will be over with.

If you are asking an opinion on which of the two months is better, I'd choose January. January is after all the hustle and bustle of Christmas, and people including yourself can settle down a bit and concentrate just on your wedding and all the planning etc. Also it is the first of a new year, a new beginning. But, if you are asking if I have a preference of any month, I'd have to pick June. June weddings in California are the best. The weather is not yet hot, yet it is sunny and warm. Kids are out of school for the summer, and people are enjoying the sunshine and just feeling good. I admit, I am a summer girl at heart.

I think January would be a better time to get married. In December it will just be too busy with everyone elses lives going on.

Depends on a lot of things.

IMO, I would not get married in December though.

Think about it. People will have a hard time in making time to come, with the holidays (and other committments). People sometimes make holiday plans FAR in advance.

Also, as someone with a Christmas birthday (12/25/82), I can tell you that you want to have your day anyway from Christmas. It makes it too easy for everyone (especially your to-be husband) to combine it with Christmas or forget your wedding/anniversary totally. I have promised myself a late-summer/early fall wedding for just that reason.

If you pick January I would say stay away from New Year's for the same reason as Christmas. Your guests may not be able to get away on that holiday either (some people make holiday plans FAR in advance). Plus, your wedding/anniversary may be overshadowed by the holiday.

It really depends on the bride and groom and the type of wedding you are having. Is it a big wedding? Then this depends on your family as well, which is there busiest time? Probably the beginning of December or the end of January. Or maybe even the middle of January! Good luck and Congrats. But remember this is all about the bride and groom so what ever you want really suits!!

December. Of course, I like that month because I'm getting married this December.

It can save though on the cost of decorating the church and the reception hall. Many places are already decorated for the holidays and you only have to add your few special touches. An afternoon wedding in December can be lovely, plus give people time to attend other functions.

January. Some place may charge more during December due to the high amount of parties. Plus it interferes with everyone's holiday plans.

It really doesn't matter, but if I have to chose I would say December. December is filled with celebrations and it will be so cool to have a holiday wedding when most people can be off from work to celebrate the couple's special day and the holidays all at one time.

January would be easier for people to attend. December you can combine your taxes for the previous year.

cost-wise I think January would be better (lots of sales?)
