If I was sick and asked you for money, would you donate it?

Would you still donate money to me if I wasn't a Christian?

Would the amount be different?

How much "MORE" would it be if I told you I would convert if I raised enough money for my surgery?

If I had the money, I would donate it whether or not you were a Christian. The amount would not be different. It would not be more if you promised to convert.

Your last question is a very troubling one.

I make it a policy not to give out money if possible. I would take you to the doctor, or if I didn't have the money, call someone at my church and get them to take you.

Why would the amount be different? That's foolish.

I don't care if you convert or not. If you need a surgery and I have the means to get it for you then I would do it. You are a fellow human being. I don't need you to believe what I believe to have compassion for you.

Most of the money I donate goes to people that state their religious status. Most of the charities anyone gives to don't allow for follow up. Your conversion on the basis of money would be really shallow. Jesus didn't tell us to help people that would convert, He said help people expecting nothing in return. Doing things for money has a title.

To give you money.... (This is based on my past donations - I used to give money and saw it wasted on drugs or alcohol, even though the claim was for legitimate needs)

1) It would depend on what money I had myself. I would not put my family in a bad position as to their own needs, since I am responsible for them 1st (others are not) although I would share what food and clothes we had.

2) It would depend on your needs. (I would not give you money for frivolous things) When I give to those in need, I give clothes, food, drink, or products (like diapers), not money.

3) And, IF I did give money for doctor bills, I would try to give it directly to the doctor/hospital in your name.

4) So, if I had it, I would give it, depending on the situation, but still show wisdom in the giving, even if I don't show trust (since that was already "burned" away).

Note: none of the above refers to your religion - only the needs of those involved.

I'm broke so I wouldn't donate much either way. It wouldn't matter what your religon was. You'd get the same out of me no matter what. If I thought you were super awesome or doing something great for the world, I might be inclined to dig a little deeper regardless of your religon.

I'd help donate as long as I know where my money is going to (hopefully, your medical bills instead of your wallet).

I don't give out money. I would buy you something to eat, though.
