I think a lot of people who claim to be Christians would. If he descended from Heaven with the same name they would likely accuse him of being the Antichrist because he would call them on all their BS.

Why would he change His name:

[Acts 4:12] There is no salvation through anyone else, nor is there any other name under heaven given to the human race by which we are to be saved."

[Phil 2:9] Because of this, God greatly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name,
[Phil 2:10] that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
[Phil 2:11] and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Interesting. They might do, though I don't think there's anything that suggests he'd have to be of the same name or looks...

But how do we know he hasn't tried already and been locked away in a loony bin or prison...?

HMMM, not sure about fundamentalists, but.....

Those who recognize that he when he 'returns' it will be in spirit as when he left, and it will be when he rides against God's enemies - then they will not accept another human as a Messiah, since it would invalidate his death, and everything he promised to accomplish with his ransom sacrifice.

Yeah, probably. Unless it was George Bush claiming to be Jesus. I really don't think he's that far off from it though, he's that nutty.

He wouldn't use a different name, because he remains the same always.
