Keeping track of time by years is easier when you have a sharp difference in seasons. But where it is always warm, many ancient cultures kept time in a lunar calendar. Methuselah is said to be the oldest person who ever lived, at 969 years. But if instead of solar years you take that to mean lunar "years", he was really only about 87. THAT was old for then. So was 40!

the sun and moon were used just as they are today as timekeepers. in their creation account it describes how God created them to be used for counting time.
some people lived hundreds of years in antedeluvian times because the climatic conditions were much different back then. there was a layer of water (in some form or another; some say ice, some say vapor) that was like a canopy over the world. during the flood, this canopy came down and the water thereof was a source of the deluge. also, from what studies have shown; the air pressure and oxygen levels were both much higher than they are at present. a study of the effects of both of these conditions on any given lifeform shows an extended life, larger size, and better health.

Curtis that's an easy question, as to why people lived so long! And a good question!

Adam and Eve were made to live for ever! They were perfect! When they failed to obey God, they gave that up! That meant they gave it up for their children as well. That means they lived the longest, and those after them lived less as long down to this very day. There are always a few exceptions!

If it wasn't for science, people would be dropping, worse than flies today! Keep in mind 35 was really, really old to be alive. I would guess if it wasn't for science, 20 would be considered super old by now. 10/13 year olds use to be on their own and raising families. If they died, they did, if they didn't, they didn't! It was expected then!

That's easy. Before the Great Flood there was a water layer in the atmostphere that was much denser than what it is now. It sheilded life on earth from the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun. Vegetation was much healthier to eat and so were animals because there was no pollution and the soil was much more rich and fertile.

who knows, but theoretically speakign it should have been the difference between night and daylight that seperated days/nights. im not sure how they measured years or months and how accurate they were. this has been explained by the greenhouse effect though. before the world wide flood the earth was encased in a greenhouse-like state, and with the lack of pollution to add to the constant morophing of diseases and bacterial growth (along with many other factors) they think people DID live this long. however im a bit skeptical myself.

s lots, yet he's grown up. he's residing as much as his attractiveness of a good looking pimp (as oxymoronic as which would be). His ear for beats could have replaced, yet he continues to be making exciting song. Snoop Dogg became in no way a lyrical monster. He makes exciting, head nodding, party song. And he nonetheless does, inspite of who the production comes from, no count if or no longer that's Dre or the Neptunes. And c'mon, The Blue Carpet therapy is taken under consideration one of Snoop's perfect albums no longer referred to as Doggystyle, and it became released contained in the era of his albums seen "whack". besides, Snoop is likely considered one of the main good MCs contained in the mainstream. he's have been given a great style of love for the underground and has a tendency to grant them shine (that's a hell of so lots greater desirable than different mainstream MCs do, that's a shame thinking the expertise available in places like Chi, long island and Detroit). Malice N Wonderland had production from Scoop DeVille, who's a ingredient of the Get Busy Committee with Apathy, he has a collaboration album with B-genuine due out next twelve months, and he recognized on l. a. Coka Nostra's debut album. He has a tendency to convey underground acts on excursions with him and rock with them on degree. he's have been given a great style of love for hip hop. And yet ever because he did a song with Soulja Boy all i've got seen is comments approximately him being a sell out. i will admit Ego Trippin wasn't a great album, yet Malice N Wonderland became overall an relaxing pay attention. Like I saighgggggdrdry8d, had Snoop been the West Coast equivalent of R.A the Rugged guy or some sh*t and consistently spoke on protecting hip hop a hundred and then he started recording with the Neptunes and Soulja Boy i might agree that he's a sell out. yet he's in no way been that lyrical. he's a soft, laid decrease back musician who merely makes exciting song. no longer even his maximum hailed album is lyrical. And he continues to be offering us with exciting musicccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccc... Snoop Dogg continues to be between the perfect and maximum good mainstream musicians. he's neither a sell out or a fall off. in case you probably did no longer call him a sell out for signing to No shrink and recording with C

One of two things: 1) People measured years differently than we do now, or 2) conditions were different than they are now, allowing people to live longer. We don't really know...but my guess is the former rather than the latter.

Simple: people can say all sorts of things.

I'm 8 feet tall and have been alive for 650 years. I can fly, and spit nickels, and I'm the almighty son-in-law of the creator of the universe.

See how easy that was? Once you decide you're no longer concerned about the truth, you can say anything.

Same as we do today, 7 days in a week. And one trip around the sun makes one year. Simple the way God made it, ain't it?

They used passing of the sun and the moon like we do today. They were given different names, and who knows if they could've been read right or not.
