The theory is that He didn't actually 'walk on water' in the generally accepted way. In those days fishing boats would go into the Sea of Galilee to catch fish and often came back heavily laden. The sea is shallow by the shore and a series of piers were built going out to sea for about 50 yards so that the catches could be unloaded without the boats running aground. The water at the point of discharge of the fish would be about five feet deep. Due to the tide the walkways were often submerged a few inches beneath the surface but still visible. During a storm when the disciples were afraid Jesus simply walked out on one of the piers to their boat to reassure them . As the pier would have been a couple of inches under the surface the illusion of walking on water was created. This was not an isolated incident and traces of the piers have been found even after 2000 years.

Where Jesus performed this so called miracle there was already a road/bridge. There used to be a small city in that area but it got flooded. There was a river close by. The flooding was so bad that the bridge over the river was submerged just enough to create the illusion of walking on water. The same city was the root of the stories of Atlantis.

He knew where the rocks were.

Actually, that's just an old, lame joke. There was no ILLUSION of Jesus walking on water. There was no FACT of Jesus walking on water. How could there be? Jesus did not exist. It is all a part of a carefully contrived mythology, which took bits and pieces of existing god-man myths, and spliced them into a Judaized version. Modern biblical scholarship makes a very compelling case for the idea that Jesus never existed... that he was, in fact, entirely fictional.

Florida scientists have said the 'walk on water' miracle described in Matthew's gospel may have been no more than a spot of ice skating.

In a move certain to enrage the faithful, Professor Doron Nof at Florida State University's Bible belt Tallahassee campus and his co-authors say a combination of unusual atmospheric conditions and warm springs could have frozen parts of the surface of the Sea of Galilee.

Current winter temperatures in the region don't drop below double figures. However, paleoclimatologists reckon the atmosphere was, on average, about seven degrees centigrade cooler when JC made his show-stopping turn.

Nof's apparently sacriligious theory, appearing in the Journal of Paleolimnology, relies on warm saltwater springs that run along the latterday Lake Kinneret's western shore. They say colder freshwater above warm plumes would be prevented from taking part in convection currents that would normally mix it with other water and warm it up.

During a cold snap, Nof's model says that such patches on the surface could become cold enough to freeze.

To a distant observer, the team speculate, anyone standing on the ice could appear to be “walking” on the water.

It's not the first time Nof has courted controversy by explaining away phenomena described in the scriptures. In the early nineties he proposed theories the parting of the Red Sea was caused by unusual winds and current.

A man visited a monastery close to a lovely lake. He was strolling along the lake shore when he saw one of the monks walking across the sea, on the water. The man was speechless for a good while. When the monk reached shore, he approached him and said: "You must indeed be a holy man! Tell me, what does it take to be able to walk on water?"

The monk replied: "I'm just an ordinary Brother, friend, and I wouldn't know how to walk on water, but I do know the exact location of all the stones."

What was that joke, the Catholic, Proestant and Jew in a fishing boat?

Now to get serious, SCIENCE has a fact called SURFACE TENSION.

God, Jesus and ALL of us have the potential to act upon that surface tension and even make it greater.

Jesus said everything he could do we could do, and one Disciple actually got out of the boat and walked a few steps before sinking due to lack of faith.

Let's discuss faith.

Faith in yourself is what makes it possible for you to walk up to a girl and ask her out. When you have lack of faith you are a failure before he even reach her!

Faith in your skills is what makes you perform CPR to restore a life (Jesus also did that with a touch of his and) when God is willing to let it happen.

This does not mean get up and have faith and walk out of a boat, for you migth get wet!

But, that is the point.

If God can manipulate the universe and WE are created in God's image then we have all the potential powers, we just don't know how to use them.

Jesus did.

It's that simple. Maybe God gave him some secret instructions that God hides from us, because God doesn't want to encourage use to act like Gods, even though we are on the verge of creating life in a test tube and becoming Gods to some new life form.

Man and Science is trying hard to PROVE Intellegent Design, in a lab, in a test tube.

Cloning, etc.

That is INTELLGENT DESIGN and one day it will be taught in the schools.

Plainly, simply, He did NOT create any illusion. He DID walk on water. And, here's the real miracle, so did Simon Peter.

Because in the particular sea, at certain times of the year on a very low tide, the water level dropped so much, that a ridge is almost on the surface, and you could in theory walk across on the ridge.

submarines did no longer exist in that era, some additionally say he walked on somewhat ice, is it so no longer undemanding to have faith that Jesus walked on water, raised a lifeless guy, healed those with leprosy, cured a guy of blindness the checklist is going on and on. This tale of the Bible is eye-catching, Jesus's return is merely around the corner, its going to be mind-blowing greater miracles yet this time he is going to be so secure that comprehend government is going to smash him back.
