Sounds like you already have a theory constructed...would help if you could provide evidence (empirical data, please) or links to back up your theory.
If the "Jesus hoax" were, or could have been, perpetrated back then, Joseph of Aramathea would have to have had some help, as fooling countless thousands of scholars, at least 50 known individuals willing to forward heresies and many other millions of believers who have and had the capability of examining the facts and drawing their own conclusions...
You have quite a task on your hands...I wish you well in your quest.

No, of course not. He simply was one of the Pharisees who believed in Jesus as Messiah and helped remove His body. That is the last mention of him.
1Co 15:3 For I delivered to you in the first place what I also received, that Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures,
1Co 15:4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised the third day, according to the Scriptures,
1Co 15:5 and that He appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve.
1Co 15:6 Then He appeared to over five hundred brothers at once, of whom the most remain until now, but some also fell asleep.
1Co 15:7 Then He was seen by James, then by all the apostles;
1Co 15:8 and last of all, even as if to one born out of time, He was also seen by me.
As you can see, Jesus appeared to over 500 people after His resurrection.

NO, it was proven by letters and short books that it was not a hoax. Those who saw Him in person, passed the accounts along to generations down the line.
Luke 24
45Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. 46He told them, "This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48You are witnesses of these things. 49I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high."

Not sure.
Is he the distant relative who gave up his burial tomb?
If so, he also travelled to Whales a few years later and founded a Bible College than endured in secret for centuries and this eventually became part of the Protestant reformation movement.

Where is Arimathea? No one really knows! So how do they know that there even WAS a Joseph of Arimathea? I'm satisfied that even Jesus never existed.
