Connect the audio equipment to your sound card though the auxiliary socket and record the audio using media player. You can then use it to burn it onto CD.
There are more professional audio programs out there that can do a better job, some claim they can even remove scratches from records/

The how has been coated. in basic terms do it if it is a tape you particularly particularly do no longer elect to lose (like your little ones clowning around, a bday tape, some thing like that)- the sound high quality heavily isn't that great and could by no ability learn how to an audio cd burned from yet another disc, comp, bought, etc...

media player doesn't record from an audio source. audacity will, and it's free.
connect the lineout from your audio equipment to the linein or mic in on your soundcard. use the sound and audio devices entry in control panel to specify the audio-input source. once you've recorded your audio, you can edit the file into individual tracks, modify the signal using audacity's tools, save in another format, etc. I don't think audacity will burn .wav to CD, but windows media player will.
