I have a car I'm trying to sell, but it's going to cost me more in advertising it than I will actually make by selling it. I've already checked my Yahoo Groups, and posted with them, but I was looking for more local and free ways of advertising it. Can you help me?

Sign up for an account. Select the closest city as your default.
They'll anonymize your e-mail on the site when you post so people can answer you, or you can show your info and add
your phone #. I'd recommend the first choice. I sold my Miata
overnight in e-mai lin 3 hours flat, and had 13 inquiries with
offers of cash in hand before removing the ad 12 hours later,
but it was priced as a real steal.

Craigs has everything, their Free section is astonishing here
in the Portland area, and their Jobs sites are among the best
rated in the US.

It's a self-policing community which gives users the ability to "flag" and remove other people's posts if enough of them don't like one and flag it, so there are a lot of nuts on it. Just tell them
off or ignore them.

Place an ad on a bulletin board at work, or school, or even the grocery store. A lot of places have free public bulletin boards. Just ask the business if you can post on them. A sign in the window of the SUV, with your phone number on it, may work. Try parking it in a public, highly traveled area, and see if that generates any leads.
