"According to the prophecy, the current Pope may be the second last Pope Gloria Olivæ ("Glory of the Olives").

However, it should be noted that some commentators over the centuries have pointed out that there is nothing that says there will be no popes between Gloria Olivæ and Petrus Romanus. It may be that there will be a long line of popes between them!"

No one knows.

I think it is interesting how a very few Bible-believing Christians, who don't recognize Catholic saints, are using the vague and un-biblical prophecies of Saint Malachi to predict what will happen with the next pope.

God bless them and the Pope.

Even the Catholic Church has not declared the prophecies as divinely inspired.

Some modern scholars even think they are a forgery.

With love in Christ.

If the Malachy prophesies can be thought of as true then I believe that Benedict XVI will have a short reign and then there will be one pope left.
We are in the time of the antichrist. He's alive now and so yes, we will probably see the last pope in our lifetime.

Wouldn't it be suffient to forecast 800 or a thousand years, and say that will keep them busy for a while? A century from now, and 10 popes later, that's how it will be explained.

I've heard of this and I think that prediction is bunk.
