This phrase was on a sign outside a church I drove by today:

"God never makes a promise that he cannot keep."

What's that even mean, and what do you think of it?

It probably refers to this most important promise of all. If you understand this, you are forgiven and chosen.

John 3:16
16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

God always keeps his promises.

Abraham and his family became very prominent. He was the father of Israel.

During the enslavement of Jews by Egypt he promised them a deliverer. Moses.

He promised to send a savior. Jesus.

In otherwords. He is powerful enough he can do what he wants when he wants. but will always keep his promises especially since he can't lie.

IT is true, God can do all thing on this earth and yes that mean Good and Bad.

The bible tell us of promises he will give to us if we keep his word.

The bible is True and what in the bible has happen or will happen and that is a Promise from God/Jesus.

God has made many promises, they comprise one rather thick book. Find a modern version and read it, try the gospel of John, about two thirds of the way back.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

haha, it's funny if you think about it, so we say that god is all powerful, therefore he can do anything and any promise he makes he CAN keep, but that doesn't mean he will.
so if we believe his promise of heaven for all the christians, according to this church, while he CAN keep this promise, he might not. lol.

I wonder where the churches get all these little sayings. It just means God is all powerful and in control.

well, He made promises in the Bible, unconditional love, etc. And we humans are most definitely fallible, and make and break promises daily, always have always will. God is so much bigger than that. He's God.

It just means if God gives you a promise He will definitely honor it.

It is truth. God does not break His promises. He never makes a promise that He will not fulfill.

You can never keep a promise because SOMETHING always happens - It means God will disappoint you
