i just got an ipod from a friend but I dont know how to put music on it?? any ideas???

someone i have to have a disk with it but I dont so what should I do?

As Big R says. Go there, download and install iTunes.
When iTunes is up and running, add music to your iTunes Library (this is music that is already on your machine) iTunes will offer to find this for you when you run it for the first time. OR you can do it from the 'FILE' menu.
Plug your iPod in to your USB port. Wait a min for iTunes to recognise it and away you go. You can now create playlists and and music to your hearts content.

I take it you got a whole system, right? there is a disk you have to load onto your computer. without it, the ipod is useless.
