Oh YEAH! remember that scene in Apocalypse Now on the river boat? Navy! Remember John Kerry exagerating his service and his crewmen saying Nuh UH! Navy!

Joining the navy doesn't get you out of serving in a land war!

Talk to your recruiter, if they need to make a quota they will tell you anything. I was in the Coast Guard and we had gun boats in Viet Nam. If you want to get on a small boat join the CG. Don't believe everything a recruiter tells you though. I got sent to Antarctica for two years. At least I got to go to a place most Americans Ihave not been.

SWCC surface warfare combat crewman. pretty much you just get to drive really fast boats shoot really cool guns and be a professional bad*** While it isnt a rate in its self you need to have a source rating supported by the SWCC program. Highly motivated people wanted.

You can volunteer to be a S.W.C.C. (Special Warfare Combat Crewman). You cant join JUST for this job though. You first pick a job that is one that allows you to be a s.w.c.c. Also, you have to qualify physicaly for the job.
