Only if the relationship is abusive physically and psychologically. Aside from that only the heart aches when it doesn't work, but pain is only temporary.

Love is not torture, you have the right word, love, but you are in the wrong place. If your relationship is not working out and you have done everything in your power to correct it, It is time for a move, Because Love is happiness, and you need to seek it, their is no way, you should be here on earth, and not be happy.

Being in love have always felt similar to an opiate high for me. When it ends, it's torture for a while (i.e., withdrawal), but then you get over it, and look for more.
It's addictive!

They can be incredibly similair at times and incredibly different at others. When the relationship is at its best, its far from it.
